The author received her Ph.D. in the field of Organizational Behavior, before becoming radicalized by motherhood. (Not to be confused with the political scientist of the same name.) She's been an activist in church-state separation and other civil liberties issues, veganism, and general liberal politics. After studying speechwriting and political management, she became a freelance writer. Her doctoral dissertation was on escalating commitment to a course of action.
