Boxer and Imhoffe

Imhoffe is one of my two Senators and the other one is just as right wing as Imhoffe. Imhoffe has played a straight flush since 1992 with the first Gore and Clinton elections:

1. The agriculture card in a very agri-business state with wild accusations after wild accusations against Gore saying the farmers will not be able to use certain fertilizers and insecticides. The "hug a tree" "kiss a spotted owl" folks are not very well thought of in the Midwest.

2-3. Oklahoma may be the most Bible Belt of the Bible Belt states. When you throw in "Gays" and "abortion on demand" mix, you have only Republicans elected.

4. With hunters being told that the aim of the liberals is to take away all personal ownership of guns makes four in the straight flush run.

5. With the fear that gambling halls are going to be on every corner and gambling is liberal, the flush is finished.

It is hard to beat a straight flush in politics as well as poker.

Oklahoma is predominantly a Southern Baptist state. Imohoffe like Orin Hatch is Mormon as is Romney of New York. Not only is Oklahoma predominantly Southern Baptist with a strong Mormon following around Oklahoma and Norman, but Tulsa is the Mecca of Pentecostal groups such as Oral Roberts University. It is this crowd that pushes such followers as Oral Roberts, Pat Robinson, Richard Hagee and other big names.

There is hope. The Southern Baptist Convention was taken over by a well organized and well financed group in 1979; however, many Southern Baptists still see other issues as important.

The above five issues are no longer not the "be all" of life. Our Governor Henry is a Democrat and a Southern Baptist Sunday School teacher and Deacon. Al Gore and Tipper, Bill Clinton, Harold Ford, Jimmy Carter are all Southern Baptist.

We just need Progressives in Washington to stand up to bullies like Imohoffe. The more Imohoffe opens his right wing mouth the better as long as there are Al Gores and Boxers there to make him look silly.

A Democrat stood up to a Republican and she didn't melt into the floor, the world didn't end, and there was no angry mob with torches and pitchforks to carry Boxer off and lynch her. Does this mean Democrats CAN take a stand and not grovel at the Republicans' feet? How could the pundits have been so wrong?

Inhofe, ... ashamed to say he is from Oklahoma.

Just to let you know, we are ashamed to say that Jim Inhofe is from Oklahoma. Boxer should have taken the gavel and left about a half dozen knots on his deserving head. And sadly, none of our other congressmen or women ae not much better.
