Steven Biskupic, U.S. Atty for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, will likely be the subject of investigation before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary as the heat on his partisan prosecution of a state civil service worker increases. Today’s New York Times editorial sounds the alarm: “The Chicago-based United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit seemed shocked by the injustice of her conviction. It took the extraordinary step of releasing Ms. Thompson from prison immediately after hearing arguments, without waiting to issue a ruling.” As Wisconsin Senators Kohl and Feingold both sit on the Judiciary committee, you can bet on due diligence. ###
